All of the eight genetic differences identified are statistically significant which means they are all important discoveries. Statistical significance helps us decide if the difference or relationship we observe in data is likely to be real, not just due to random chance. We now need research to investigate each genetic signal further to fully understand their role in ME/CFS. They all have the potential for further research to lead to treatments and other important discoveries.
