DecodeME was launched because we knew far too little about the biology of ME/CFS, and we needed to use the tools of genetics to change that. Our findings confirm that ME/CFS is partly genetic and lay the groundwork for future research into how the genetic regions we’ve identified may contribute to its development. This could eventually lead to tests or treatments, but more research is needed.
