No. Having these genetic differences does not mean someone with ME/CFS will never recover or improve. These genetic differences may influence someone’s risk of developing ME/CFS, or how their body responds to certain triggers, but they don’t forecast someone’s future. Many other factors also shape how ME/CFS affects a person over time, including biology, environment, support, and treatment.
